It is heavy so dont expect it to stick to vitamin A knife attractor (not that I would but Ive seen some try), the attached ring is solid enough to fall it by. 1 saw another review saying that this had an 8" blade with 12" total length, which would have been fine with me, but the product 1 received has 12" blade with 5.5" handle, which is how it was described on the product page. It works well on my knives.This is an excellent steel for honing your kitchen knives - the length is good for almost all sizes of knife.
